Thai rice crisis: 2 months of exports drop 32% as India revives exports

Thai rice exports are struggling. The Exporters Association revealed that in the past 2 months, Thai rice exports have fallen by 32% due to India's recovery in exports and high Thai prices, causing white rice to plunge by 54%, while global rice stocks have increased by 10 million tons of milled rice, or 532 million tons. This year's export target is 7.5 million tons.
Today (26 Feb 2025) Mr. Charoen Laothamatas, President of the Thai Rice Exporters Association, revealed that exporters estimate Thai rice exports for the year 2015 at 7.5 million tons, a contraction of 24.2% when compared to last year's rice exports of 9.94 million tons. This year's rice exports still need to monitor important impact factors, such as India returning to export rice after suspending exports for the past 2 years, coupled with a significant increase in global production, including India, which has increased production for the first time in 30 years. สล็อต
